I am currently the director of The Jazz Apprenticeship Program which recently ran the new "Jazzathon" series at Jazz at Lincoln Center. AS I continue to direct the Jazzathon 4 times a year, I have a professional interest in becoming apart of a larger institution dedicated to the studies of jazz education and performance. Over the past 26 years of teaching and performing jazz, I have directed numerous jazz programs and have developed a successful workbook method of teaching jazz improvisation and performance.

I have had 26 years of teaching,directing and performing within the jazz community.

In addition to teaching music, I volunteer to help high school students with time management and organizational skills for their homework and academic studies.
When teaching, I first acquire an understanding on how a student receives information, and then apply a tailor-made technique in order to get the maximum progress from a student.
I give my students a strong structure and method for learning as well as creating an environment that makes learning a positive experience.
In my jazz program, every rehearsal is challenging; every performance is rewarding.
