About me
By way of my formal education and my personal experience, I have developed an excellent knowledge and skill in many aspects of music and graphic design. I am very passionate about the industries I am involved with and always eager to make good things happen with creative, like-minded people.
My major strengths are my adaptability, motivation, and integrity. I am able to work well as an individual and team player, moving easily between being a graphic designer, to assisting in the studio or in the live performance setting, to administering office responsibilities. My motivation draws from a desire to create things I believe in and work with people who share my professional beliefs and values. I have always felt that the importance of music, as well as design, is to invent an end product that will not just be enjoyed, but will also inspire.
Musically, I have producing solo, sample-based music since 2001, and have been experimenting with music by way of the piano and drums since I was 9 years old. My current music exists under the moniker of Las Flores Project (myspace.com/lasfloresproject).
In terms of design, academia technically prepared me, making me proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and adequate knowledge of Flash. I have freelanced for several design firms and various companies, handling everything from graphic images, to paper and printing processes, to designing tech packs.
In addition to music and design, my "college job" at UC Santa Barbara gave me much experience in the office setting, where I worked as an office assistant in the Department of Art Offices, developing a range of administrative and organizational skills.
