Is anyone getting work from this site?

This site seems really good, but very dead.
please send me some feedback.

I produce re-mixes and Bass Guitar Instrumentals.
I may not be the best, but the stats show NO BUSINESSES ARE EVEN VISITING THIS SITE.

We have hired people on this site in the past and just posted another job today.

I think the concept of this site is great.
I'm just tired of gigging locally, off my own
efforts, walking the pavement.
and paying these internet sites money,
and the only one making money are the sites.
But I'm getting work outside these sites.

If you don't mind, what type of talent did you hire?
just seeing if my talent qualify, to the only response on this post.

in other words, I got one response, and they hired a mexican book publisher,
at least I know I had no chance in getting that gig.

But if it were a mexican guitarist, I may have
missed the listing or just not good enough.
that would help me have a little more hope.

McAuthor, just a suggestion, but as this site is not a recruiter, I suggest you try and use it as a platform for more networking within the site, and using your US Music Jobs profile on other social networks.

As this was your first comment, I would suggest using the forums to post news, views, ideas, give other people in your field help, or comment on the Blog. You can also use the friend tool to connect with your peers and search for workers and businesses in your area.

I keep my page updated with photos, mp3s, Resume, and as much info as possible so that an employer or individual will find the details they need, I notice that you do too, which is a great start. I try to contribute regularly and generally make as much noise as possible around the internet, linking to my profile where appropriate, in order to catch the eye of employers.

The businesses are visiting the site; 12,000 have registered with us so far. The database of which is still being compiled but many of the companies are searchable and findable using the box on the right, as mentioned.

I also work for the site itself, and would love to hear some feedback on how we can improve the website for everyone to use, feel free to message me via my profile :)

I haven't gotten a job yet from it, BUT I have gotten several interviews for positions that I probably would not have otherwise seen.

I see a mix of really high-quality positions for companies Roland, Line 6, Warner Brothers, CD Baby, Universal etc. and some obviously less professional ones.

My sense is this is "generally" more of a jobs website for music industry careers than for performance gigs, for what it's worth.

I have my issues with the website, mostly because almost every "job" I find is either a pro-bono gig or for a music competition... but I have gotten some decent work from the site. Some things to keep in mind

1) You have to be really pro-active, you can't really have any flaws in your profile. Has to be totally professional

2) Don't expect tons of traffic, or to be viewed more than a few times a month. If you're looking for a magical job now, this site isn't for you

3) Even if you do everything perfectly, this site doesn't offer the kind of employer volume to be a "complete" solution for job hunting. Keep in mind it's just MHO.

This site needs to be publicized more to compete w/ Facebook, YouTube, etc. How to do that? Maybe if the members put their USMJ link in their FB profile?

I ALMOST got a cruise gig thru the site and also almost got a theater gig too.
I think most of these openings listed here are culled from other sites. I think you do have access to gigs you might not see other places though.(locally)

I have been a member for a couple of years now and every job I applied for never got any response back. most jobs are also nowhere near me and I can't really travel. That is really my only limitation so the cruise gigs are out. It also seems like all the jobs are in the same places and states. What's up with that??
