The Waking Hours have been around since 1992 give or take a millenium or two. We've been signed, dropped, ignored, overlooked because of out of control nepotisim that seems to be the standard here in LA. We've never sold our publishing which has afforded us the luxury of making more dough per year than most signed acts. We consitantly write hit songs , and always put on unbelieveably inspired live shows that leave the audience slack jawed. every show ellicits the same response...."i cant believe you gouys arent signed". Of course we all know that these days getting signed is really the best way to f up a good band. Sure, there's free money , and distribution and all. Look at the band JET for example.....they owned the world for a few minutes ( actually a year or so) then they put out their second record which was a brilliand and more mature sophmore record which had multiple radio friendly HITS but not surprisingly .....diddn't do shit. Theres something really wrong with this stupid ass industry. F 'em .
The waking Hours refuse to give up the dream of sustaining rock and roll. Too bad the industry has it's head so far up it's ass to realize that! Most record company people i've met would not know a good band from a f'ing hole in the ground , and thats the truth!
