Candidate REQUIREMENTS:
● tour press experience
● established relationships with regional writers and editors
● strong music writing skills and experience
● previous job experience that demanded writing
● basic radio experience
● work in our Chicago office (10am-6pm M-F, plus some evening shows)
● highly self-organized and self-directed
● Filemaker knowledge and experience
● strong indie ethics
● start by early May

Desired skills:
● radio promotion experience
● design experience and knowledge of programs (InDesign, Photoshop)
● HTML web site design knowledge and experience

Ideal person has experience with the editorial process and having their writing critiqued, is witty (smart-ass OK) both verbally and in writing, creative, confident, able to develop tailored publicity plans for each tour and radio promotion plans for each release, must be extremely good at working independently, able to strategize plans to secure features and higher profile pieces, and may possess an English degree. The ideal candidate also believes it's their mission to get Bloodshot bands the attention they deserve.

Duties include:
● Regional tour publicity - write and send out tour press releases, pitch coverage, set up interviews
● Manage tour promo - send out posters and other promo to venue promoters, coordinate w/ clubs
● New release radio promotion and tracking to (primarily non-commercial) terrestrial radio stations
● Tour radio promotion; pitch and coordinate in-studio Artist performances and interviews

Duties may include:
● Web site – maintain and update
● One sheet / promotional material copy editing and design

Compensation:
$9-$10 per hour, full health insurance coverage, and profit sharing plan
