About the job
We are seeking a Tenor Associate Section Leader beginning September 2, 2009. The successful candidate must sing in the 60-voice Choir, September thru May, to 1) accelerate the learning curve of the choir in sight-reading choral music; and,
2) provide leadership and achieve sectional balance in the performance of choral music. An octet of Section Leaders and Associates is retained for these purposes. Solo singing is not a requirement of the position, although some solo opportunities will likely be offered. Wednesday evening rehearsal from 7:00-9:00 p.m.; occasional Saturday morning retreats and dress rehearsals with orchestra; 10:15 a.m. call for 11:00 a.m. Sunday traditional worship service; periodic special services and concerts. Position is compensated for all rehearsals, retreats, worship services, and concerts rates are $10.82/rehearsal hour + $32.45/worship service = $54.09/week; up to $2,200 for 9 months; special compensation for special services.
