POSITION SUMMARY: Assist unit controller with instituting and maintaining accounting controls by answering vendor inquires, coordinating payment plans, tracking payment, and distributing accounts payable checks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
I. Primary Responsibility for Accountant Function
•Opening and sorting invoices
•Obtaining appropriate approval
•Coding and input of approved invoices
•Auditing purchase journals and filing completed journals
•Weekly check runs/writing manual checks as necessary
• Reconciling petty cash and processing for reimbursement
•Distributing accounts payable checks
•Filing accounts payable
•Answering vendor inquires, coordinating payment plans
II. Distribute and obtain Employee Sign-off on Weekly Paychecks
III. Back up Assistant Controller in Daily Audit of Sales
IV. Special Projects as Necessary
IN ADDITION TO THE PERFORMANCE OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ACCOUNTS PAYABLE WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF:
Accounts payable, general ledger 3-5 years experience
ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE OF:
Restaurant/Music Hall/Retail Operations
2. SKILL IN: Computers (Windows environment: databases, spreadsheets, word processing), Oracle, Compeat, Rome
3. ABILITY TO: Handle various projects at one time, follow-up, communicate with staff/management/ vendors in a positive manner
4. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, PROFESSIONAL, ETC.)
Accounting Degree preferred but not necessary.
