Job Description:
The successful candidate will be an experienced member of the Licensing team responsible for supporting an active licensing program, covering technology and product development and consulting services. The position reports to the Senior Director of Licensing. The position is an independent contributor and shares administrative support.
The position interacts extensively with senior management and requires mature judgment and the ability to work effectively as a contributing member of the team with minimal detailed direction.

Specific duties include:
* Support the standard licensing program of our technologies;
* Advise the company on the acquisition, development, and commercialization of third party technologies and related intellectual property matters;
* Counsel senior management in connection with complex transactional matters associated with licensing and collaboration agreements, intellectual property licensing strategies and protection of intellectual property rights;
* Negotiate and draft complex technology transfer and business development, and intellectual property licensing agreements;
* Work with sales and marketing organizations within the Company to develop guidelines and agreement templates, negotiate program agreements, and develop and define program criteria and processes;
* Provide information and training to internal groups as required; and
* Provide such other corporate, licensing and intellectual property management support as may be assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
* A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and be qualified to practice law in California;
* A minimum of 8 years legal experience in both top tier law firm and in-house environment with hands-on negotiation and drafting experience in technology licensing and program management.
* Excellent writing and communication skills, to the degree necessary to enable the candidate to present ideas, opinions and recommendations clearly, articulately and with confidence to senior management.
* Excellent negotiation skills and experience.
* Self-initiative and ability to work with minimum of direction under pressure.
* Superior organization and project management skills.
* Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
* A good sense of humor and the ability to contribute to a collegial environment.

Desirable Qualifications:
* Fluency in a foreign language.
* Knowledge of patent and antitrust law.
* Experience with IP litigation, especially patent litigation.
* Experience negotiating with representatives of non-U.S. entities.
* Prepare expense reports
* Provide other general administrative support including filing and office organization

Requirements:
* Ability to effectively interact with senior leaders and contacts internally and externally (executive team, Board of Directors, C level executives from other companies)
* Previous experience supporting investor relations and demonstrated understanding of the communication sensitivities with the investment community and the press
* Proven track record meeting multiple demands and deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast paced environment
* A high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
* Expert level written and verbal communication skills
* Sound decision making, good judgment and attention to detail
* Proactive and creative approach to problem solving is highly desirable
* Experience handling a wide range of administrative and executive support with little or no supervision
* Ability to initiate and correlate information from multiple sources to compile executive level briefings as needed
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with other senior administrative staff
* Proficient with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office productivity tools (email, calendaring, etc)
* Ability to effectively interact with senior leaders and contacts internally and externally (Dolby executive team, Board of Directors, C level executives from other companies)
* Previous experience supporting investor relations and demonstrated understanding of the communication sensitivities with the investment community and the press
* Proven track record meeting multiple demands and deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast paced environment.
