Seeking Music for Indie Movie Soundtrack

Hi! We are producing an independent feature film shooting this summer in and around SoCal. We're looking for SONGS FOR THE MOVIE & SOUNDTRACK.

The story involves a group of young people on a search around Hollywood for something hidden by a radio station. Music in the movie is critical. Think how AMERICAN GRAFFITI, THE BREAKFAST CLUB and NICK & NORA'S INFINITE PLAYLIST incorporated music into their films. We want to help new artists and bands by creating a soundtrack full of killer tunes.

There may be advance pay for some songs we use. All music artists will receive compensation for soundtrack sales. We are currently in pre-production on the feature comedy and have two others in development.

We would prefer unsigned/indie bands or artists; however artists/bands signed to a label will be considered if the label agrees to our compensation terms - it's another round of contracts and negotiations that need to be done, so please don't submit if you know or think that your label will be jerks about letting us use your music in a low budget movie.

Genres sought include: rock-n-roll, alt rock, hip hop/R&B, metal, reggae, electronica & soundtrack instrumental. We will also consider pop, country and Latin. We're especially looking for music appropriate for scenes of car chase, night club, restaurant jukebox, driving thru the city and love scene. Whether it's acoustic or full band, your music must be produced at PROFESSIONAL quality, and be catchy and original.

1.) Send a link to your DOWNLOADABLE FILES (we don't want to sit on MySpace or sites like that to listen; we want to be able to put all the submissions on an iPod and listen while we're on the go to production meetings), OR
2.) EMAIL us the MP3 files, OR
3.) MAIL your CD to (this is the preferred method)
