We are the world's leading educational print music publisher, seeks a sales representative to join the team of administrative support to our account executive team. It is an entry level position, perfect for someone interested in entering the music business. We are a family owned business, established in 1922. This position is located in our corporate headquarters in Van Nuys, California between the 405 Frwy and Van Nuys Airport. JOB DEFINITION
Under general supervision, acts as support for the Account Executive team.

CORE DUTIES
The core duties include (but are not limited to) the following:

Answers incoming phone calls within the sales department.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively determine the needs of each caller.

Processes customer orders promptly and accurately.

Assists customers with purchase orders and or returns.

Communicates knowledge and understanding of our products and policies.

Supports sales in processing faxed orders.

Assist in other areas or departments as needed.


PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Basic professional sales concepts, strategies and methodology; basic music knowledge; proper English usage, grammar and punctuation; basic statistic and mathematical computation; company products, sales practices, and discount and receivable policies; competing products from other publishers; short and long-term company sales goals.

ABILITY TO:
Communicate effectively orally and in writing with dealers, buyers and others both within and outside of the company; organize time and adjust work priorities; maintain effective communication with customers; be tactful, diplomatic, courteous in sales contacts; work cooperatively in a team environment; help others as needed; use judgement and creativity to solve problems.
