This vacancy was posted on 08/18/09 Internationally renowned School of Rock Music seeks highly qualified and motivated PIANO / SYNTH / KEYBOARD instructor and GUITAR INSTRUCTOR. Part-time and substitute teaching duties at first, with more responsibility and work hours with experience. Possible summer camp position and/or admin. and office hours may be available as well.
Ideal candidate will have: *Local playing experience, and preferably regional and national touring experience. *Wide and comprehensive knowledge of many styles of rock music: classic rock, reggae, funk, Motown, progressive rock, blues, punk, metal, etc... *Teaching experience and references. *Reliable transportation. *Ability to read, write and teach lead sheets, standard notation, rehearsal charts, improvisation, tab, etc.. *Rock in his/her very soul. A candidate who can teach more than one instrument, or an instrument and vocals, will certainly be the first considered! School of Rock students across the country have performed with Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton, Adrian Belew (Talking Heads/King Crimson), Dave Mustaine (Megadeath), Ann Wilson (Heart), Sting, Billy Idol, Skunk Baxter (Steely Dan), Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), Jon Anderson (YES), and scores of others.
