We are a thriving and welcoming congregation in North San Diego County, is searching for a Part-time Organist/Accompanist to join our wonderful staff.

Position: Organist/Accompanist (Part Time)

Qualifications:

1. A commitment to the Christian faith and to serving God through music.
2. Identifies the difference between “Music Performance” and “Music for Worship”.
3. Is dependable, takes initiative, and works well with others.
4. Has a wonderful smile and is always willing to learn new things.
5. Proficiency with organ, piano, and other keyboard instruments.
6. Ability to sight read music and “fly by the seat of your pants” if needed.
7. Works well with Director of Music and other musicians/staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Rehearses with the Chancel Choir on Thursday evenings and accompanies the 9:45AM Sunday worship service and various other services throughout the year. (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, weddings, funerals, etc.)
2. Provides prelude, postlude, and offertory selections in cooperation with the Director of Music and Pastor.
3. Serves as accompanist for the worship choir, children’s choir, and other ensembles.
4. Is prepared for both worship and choir rehearsals, while periodically accompanying soloists, instrumentalists, and special music.
5. Provides a schedule of music to church secretary on time to secure accurate information in the Sunday bulletin.
6. Attends staff or committee meetings as appropriate, to ensure proper worship planning occurs.
