About the job

We are seeking a Musical Theatre Composer.

Responsibilities:
-Compose dynamic and fluid orchestrations for 16 songs for a June 2, 2012 performance workshop
-Re-work any changes
-Prepare for Oct 4, 2012 performance workshop.

After the October performance, a full score must be infused into the script complete with incidentals, overtures, etc. By spring 2013 a fully-scored musical book must be complete.

We have no time for applicants who cannot fulfill the work artistically or cannot commit to the time needed to complete it.

Each song will be assigned a benchmark, having not met a benchmark gives our company the right to terminate the contract without any pay.

Pay is $200 per each performance (2), additional pay to be negotiated after October performance as we move into production

All music will be owned by our company, however royalties are contracted.

We are seeking a talented and creative individual who has a passion for orchestrations looking for a project that has funding and a well-defined game plan.

Also, we want the applicant to be themselves and allow us to do the same. This is not an office job, we will be working together to create art and this type of project is a very intimate and personal one to all involved.

The musical is dark and filled with textures and movement. This is NOT pop--this is traditional musical theatre.

Qualified applicants will be invited to sign a confidentiality contract and write a small sample piece using a few bars from a specific song. This will be reviewed and the applicant will work with the composer and writer to fine tune it for final submission.

This project will be placed in a downtown theatre for a significant run. It is currently funded by several foundations.

Please submit your resume and links to website examples of your work (we are only interested in hearing orchestrations) for consideration.

Sorry but this vacancy has now been filled.
