About the job
Are you looking for a fun, high-paying, part-time job that makes a positive, creative difference in a child’s world? Did you study piano, guitar, or drums as you were growing up? Do you love making and sharing music? If so, teaching piano, guitar, or drums (Or all three!!!) our school could be a fantastic opportunity for you!
We are looking for responsible, organized, friendly, talented teachers who can teach both beginning 5-year old kiddies and intermediate teenage students. All of our magical, creative, and fun lessons are in the students’ homes during after-school hours.
You do not need to be a concert virtuoso – just friendly, very organized, have your own car, like kids, and have studied music throughout your life. Being willing to sing along is a plus also! This is a fun job with a creative, upbeat attitude, a positive work environment, and a great community of talented teachers.
No prior teaching experience is necessary. We specialize in encouraging creative self-discovery and expression in students and our community of teachers, and going “A Step Beyond” the normal music lesson with great games and creative materials. New teachers go through a fun, inspiring and invaluable training program in a world-class leading edge creative methodology.
- Hours are weekdays after school from about 3-9, leaving you free to pursue other interests during the day and on weekends.
- Pay is compensated at a base rate of $28.66 (with college degree) per teaching hour.
- W-2 employment
- We take care of all of your tax withholdings – making your FICA tax rate about 7.6% as compared to 15% for independent contractors.
Contact us right away as we are looking for the perfect additions to our teaching team to begin this summer!
To apply: Email a resume AND an interesting (not too dry or form-like) cover letter telling us about yourself, and list the email addresses of 3 professional references (professors, employers – not band mates, family or friends).
