We are seeking dedicated, educated and experienced music instructors to teach music in the student’s home. Applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelors degree in music, music education, performance or related field. Masters degree preferred.
Job Description
Music lessons are instructed in the student's homes. Instructors may also teach group classes, ensembles and/or bands at adjunct locations, specifically in Madison, NJ. Part-time position, most students are beginners, however many students transfer from other community schools, music stores and private instructors and students may be at an intermediate and advanced level. School year contractual commitment required, independent contractor position. Music instructors need to have an appreciation and understanding of music curriculum, instructional strategies and curricular approaches to teaching music; and be responsible, personable, reliable and dedicated to teaching music to students of varying ages and ability levels in the student’s homes throughout New Jersey.
Requirements For Consideration
• Two years experience teaching music, must have an understanding of teaching music via a curriculum, yet sympathetic to each student’s educational and musical needs
• Undergraduate degree in music, music education, music performance or related field required, no exceptions
• Submit cover letter, resume/CV, salary requirements, three references
• Pass a criminal background check (to be completed by us, after interviewing)
• Submit CD or DVD of recent performance(s) (website URL is acceptable)
Requirements For Teaching With Music Notes Academy
Travel to teach music in the student's home - must have a reliable car, must arrive on time for scheduled lessons
• Attend Annual Student Recitals, Concerts, Student Evaluations (Madison, NJ)
• Efficiency in communication - via phone and email - mandatory
