Basic Function: The Music Production Specialist will support the development of our DJ Hero franchise. This role will be based in Santa Monica assisting our Music Department while also working closely with our UK based developer FreeStyleGames.
Responsibilities:
· Interface in-person with celebrity DJs to assist them in understanding how to build mixes specific to DJ Hero formatting and style.
· Provide a States-side DJ perspective on music selections and mix styles.
· Help Music Department to determine suitability of tracks for the game.
· Assist Music Department with licensing, ownership research, asset collection, and organization of spreadsheets (Excel), status updates, and database maintenance.
· Demo real scratching on vinyl during presentations in the US.
· Create mixes as an external re-mixer for FreeStyleGames.

Qualifications
· Preferred 10 yrs DJ experience.
· Experienced producer with a solid knowledge of studio production techniques, audio engineering and editing (including sample rate, bit depth understanding).
· Expert user of Ableton Live (v8); some Pro Tools experience (through v7.4) a plus.
· A good understanding of music theory (including time signatures, keys, and harmony).
· Able to scratch to a high standard.
· A love and deep understanding of music-based video games.
· Experienced use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Basic Filemaker understanding.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to take direction and be flexible.
