Candidates for this position will instruct guitar classes and serve as artistic role models for these students.
Duties will include:
Instruct weekly guitar classes for youth participants
Prepare lesson plans following the curriculum
Enforce organizational policies and manage participant behavior during the classes
Build relationship with participants and their families
Encourage all class participants to prepare and participate in a seasonal performance.
The ideal candidate should:
Have experience working with inner city and Latino youth ages 8 to 21
Be interested in the music education field, and already have or be keen to acquire related skills.
Be a skilled musician and be able to teach guitar to participants in beginner and intermediate skill levels.
Have experience instructing group lessons and implementing lesson plans that are connected to achievement goals.
Have Latin music background and be able to incorporate the style’s history and culture in the program.
Expected schedule:
Monday – 1:30 – 5:30 (4 hours)
Wednesday – 1:30 – 5:30 (4 hours)
Thursday – 12:00 – 4:00 (4 hours)
Friday – 12:00 – 4:00 (4 hours) |
