Job Description:
We invite applications for Music Director of the Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. This is a full-time appointment, at a rank and salary commensurate with experience, beginning in the 2011-12 academic year.
The individual appointed will assume responsibility for the artistic direction of the orchestral program, including:
Rehearsing and conducting the Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and annual opera productions, in addition to national and international touring;
Participating in auditions and student ensemble placement;
Teaching courses in advanced conducting and in the five-year Masters program in instrumental conducting; and
Participating in the activities of the Conservatory Division of Conducting and Ensembles as scheduled.
Qualifications include extensive professional conducting experience and proven ability to provide artistic leadership, inspiration, and professional guidance to highly skilled young musicians.
