We are currently looking for a Music Activities Assistant work with our Reflections (dementia) groups to enhance their memory and brighten their day.

The hours for this position are very flexible. You can set the hours as long as the hours can fit into the normal time of day our residents partake in activities. We are looking for someone who can travel to 2 or 3 different communities in Nassau County. Optimal availability will be between 20-25 hours per week.

Although this position will report to the Activity Director of the Community, the programs will be self directed. You must come to the position with your own program designs and concepts. You should have some experience with craft programs. Outside the Box thinking is preferable.

We require a minimum Bachelors Degree in Music or recreation Therapy, with a minimum of 2 years experience leading programs within a Dementia environment. When submitting your resume, please include your salary requirement.

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy, Art Therapy or Recreation Therapy
Experience providing activities for people with dementia in lieu of degree
Must be self directed
Must have experience developing programs that appeal to people with dementia
Proven ability to energize and motive a group
