About the job
Our High School marching band is looking for a director and drill writer to help lead them through a successful Fall 2012 season. Due to recent budget cuts and some re-arranging, we have lost their director, drill writer, and some assistants to the woodwinds. There are many college students and alumini within the area willing to help, so you will not be in this alone.
Our old director had already pulled out music for our fall show, which is music from West Side Story.
For approximately 245 hours of work from summer band camp, summer rehersals, fall rehersals, competitions, and the NYSFBC Championships in Syracuse, NY, pay will be $4,152. This is a very hard working, dedicated high school marching band who has performed well in Syracuse every year, has traveled to Disney World, and many other places to show case their abilities in marching and playing. This is a very long standing tradition in our are and the community, students, and parents hate to see it go.
