This vacancy was posted on 05/30/09 Performs editorial and administrative functions related to the on-going development and creation of on-line databases and content. Daily responsibilities include applying independent judgment to create, review and correct content related to contextual elements according to established standards and practices. Exercises independent judgment to ensure incoming data and content from 3rd Party vendors and other external data providers is of acceptable quality, issues corrections and rebukes as necessary, and surfaces issues to the Content Operations Manager for review as required.
Specific requirements include, but are not limited to:
Perform quality assurance and review vendor-submitted content (mainly lyrics) according to established standards & practices
Perform research pertaining to music-related content, including pre-releases and new releases
Gather and maintain a collection of industry charts relating to lyric and music data
Perform coverage analysis across the lyric database
Investigate, resolve and respond to user feedback
Job Requirements: Excellent writing and editing and verbal communication skills. Excellent basic computer and data entry skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). In-depth skills in research techniques, using traditional and on-line resources. Ability to work independently, with little or no direct supervision, surfacing problems or issues for approval as necessary. Must be detail oriented and able to establish, communicate, and follow agreed upon project priorities.
Qualifications: B.S., B.A., or equivalent experience in technical, library science or music major. PLUSES: Any practical database knowledge (Oracle, PLSQL, SQL Server, SQL, etc.). Previous work in the record, radio, and/or music retail industries. Fluency/Familiarity with languages other than English.
