Universal Music Group, Copyright/Royalties department, is currently seeking a Licensing Clerk for the Universal City, CA office.

Responsibilities:

• Generate various forms of mechanical and digital licenses and license requests for music publishers manually and in the CLA (Copyright Licensing Application) computer system
• Process fully executed licenses in the CLA computer system and for royalty set up
• Analyze documents and agreements
• Prepare completed files and documents for scanning into Alchemy system
• Assist with scanning documents and files into the Alchemy system
• Research files and documents manually and in Alchemy system
• Assist with prioritizing and directing incoming mail and review returned mail for next action
• Assist with preparing royalty statements for distribution to publishers
• Organize and prioritize special projects – analyzing on hand resources and services for deployment
• Assist with SOX research and department process review
• Oversee the UMPG licenses and maintain electronic submissions of fully executed licenses
• Assist with shipping boxes of fully executed licenses and correspondence to the Harry Fox Agency
• Assist with filing, retrieving files, document location, and research as needed

• Excellent people skills; pleasant and patient manner
• Must be able to file accurately and efficiently
• Attention to detail, systematic, and orderly
• Able to handle high work volume and move between multiple tasks without confusion or discomfort
• Sharp prioritization skills
• Accuracy is critical in both data collection and maintenance within database
• Quick learner
• Ability to work with confidential and Company sensitive situations
• Self-starter; must be able to work with minimal guidance once job is learned
• Familiarity with general computer functions and Word
• Alchemy, AS 400/archiving/mainframe databases preferred
• Experience in mechanical licensing preferred
