JOB TITLE: Information Technology (IT) and Systems Engineer - IT Support Technician

Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary:

Fast paced, dynamic and expanding media company seeks self motivating, tech savvy candidate with engineering background to help us use technology to out-perform our competition.

We see technology as an essential tool in our toolkit, helping us to outperform and compete in a dynamic and changing marketplace. The successful candidate will join our four person engineering department as its most junior member. Senior engineers with specialties in Electrical Engineering, RF, Telco, Wireless and IP will mentor and train the candidate, but will not supervise day-to-day. Instead the successful candidate will work directly with non-technical teammates at our fast growing and dynamic media company to help.

Essential skills for the successful application are:
· The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with non-technical teammates
· A desire to learn about business, strategy, media and marketing
· An understanding of the importance of mission critical applications and hardware
· An overall enthusiasm and willingness to learn new technologies, proprietary software and more complex engineering concepts from our Senior Engineers
· Comfort and computer literacy with conventional networking, IP and desktop products
· Capacity to self educate, research and recommend on future purchases

Interest areas and skills that are not essential, but will help you win this position:
· An interest in solar arrays and alternative energy
· A passion for music and concerts
· An interest in sound engineering and recording
· A love of the outdoors

DO NOT BE MISLED: In addition to learning and then managing our complex, mission critical server systems, you will be the junior member of your department and often the only technical staff member on site. Your responsibilities will also include more basic tasks including:
· Desktop support
· Staff training
· Printer Maintenance
· Server backups
· Oversee building maintenance including but not limited to HVAC, back-up electrical generators, cleaning and recycling program
· Pulling cables
· Lifting and moving equipment
· Climbing ladders

Qualifications/Employment Standards
· Bachelor of Science degree or Associate’s degree with related experience
· Experience in the field or in a related area are helpful
