We are looking for an experienced grant writer with a proven record of successful outreach to foundations and other funding sources.
Job Duties
Working in collaboration with members of the Development Department and reporting to the Director of Development, the full-time Foundations Manager will build and maintain relationships with foundation program officers, such as Grants for the Arts and the San Francisco Arts Commission. In addition, the incumbent will seek new funding sources and manage a diverse portfolio of foundation and government donors and prospects. Also, the Foundations Manager will gather and summarize statistical data to use in grant and other funding proposals. This will require collaborative working relationships with other department heads within the Conservatory. Finally, the incumbent should be available to help manage special donor events that are hosted by the Development Department throughout the year.
Qualifications
Success in this position will require excellent interpersonal skills, a minimum of 3 to 5 years of fund-raising and nonprofit development experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Raiser's Edge or similar database program is essential. Sound judgment, accompanied by a good sense of tact and diplomacy, will serve this position well.
