We are a highly charged experiential marketing agency based in New York City, and are seeking freelance and full-time Event/Production Designers. Check out our website to learn more about the company and to view work examples.

We are currently looking for a freelance designer who can act as the lead designer from now through mid-March on an upcoming agency project. Following the project there is the opportunity for full-time employment.

This is a unique position for a talented two- and three-dimensional designer requiring design work in various capacities. As directed, the designer will primarily be responsible for executing event installations, from conducting initial brainstorming sessions, drafting plans and rendering ideas for presentations to creating technical drawings, working with fabricators and overseeing the final staging of all design components. It is imperative that the designer is able to work creatively within a budget. The designer must also have an understanding of composition, materials, lighting, lighting/video equipment and other technology that is integrated into installations. The designer will also produce 2D work including digital and printed invitations, mood boards and large- and small-format print graphics.

The ideal candidate will:
1 Have a proven track record of creative execution with 3+ years experience as an Event / Production Designer.
2 Be able to collaborate with a production team.
3 Have diligent follow-through on every task assigned.
4 Be a self-starter.
5 Have stellar people skills.
6 Have managed a staff of 2 or more design assistants.
7 Thrive in a small, intimate work environment.
8 Be willing to travel on short notice for meetings and installations (as needed).
9 Be willing and able to work nights and weekends (as needed).

Specific Skills Requirements:
10 Excellent Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat skills.
11 Strong CAD skills — Vector Works OR AutoCAD a plus.
12 Background in scenic/set design
13 Be able to work under pressure and multi-task/manage competing deadlines.
14 Minimum Bachelors degree, with focus on design
