You do not need to be a concert virtuoso – just friendly, have studied music throughout your life, and have your own car. Being willing to sing along is also a plus! This is a fun job with a creative, upbeat attitude, a positive work environment, and a great community of talented teachers.
Our teaching community comes from various instrumental and stylistic backgrounds. Though some of our teachers are studying or have degrees in Music – many come from different areas: from Philosophy to English, Biology to Dance and more! No matter what their degree or course of study – they have all played, practiced and loved music as a big part of their lives, and are enthusiastic about earning money to play and teach music to children.
No prior teaching experience is necessary. We specialize in encouraging creative self-discovery and expression in students and our community of teachers. New teachers go through a fun, inspiring and invaluable training program in a world-class leading edge methodology.
- Hours are afterschool from about 3-9
- Pay is compensated at a base rate of $28.66 (with college degree) per teaching hour.
- W-2 employment
- We take care of all of your tax withholdings – making your FICA tax rate about 7.6% as compared to 15% for independent contractors.
