Director of Orchestras – One-year full-time Temporary Lecturer Position (10-month contract) with possible tenure-track search to take place in the fall.

Degree Requirements: Master’s required. Doctorate or ABD preferred.

Duties: Conduct the NKU Philharmonic and NKU Chamber Orchestra in rehearsals and concerts, including off-campus performances. Teach two additional classes each semester according to the candidate’s abilities and the needs of the department. Classes could include basic conducting, string methods, music theory, music appreciation, music literature and music history. Coordinate the applied string faculty, establish positive relationships with public school orchestra programs in the state and region and assist the string faculty in recruiting string majors.

Other duties could include serving as Executive Director of the Norse Festival, a summer chamber music festival. These extra duties would involve additional compensation
