About the job

We are seeking a Director of Development.

Goal: Advocating for Support
-With the Executive Director, spearheads fundraising efforts to support our programs.
-Oversees annual solicitation campaigns, fundraising events, and donor appreciation activities.
-Manages public relations efforts and opportunities to promote the organization’s programs.

Goal: Meeting Our Budget
With the Executive Director, develops, implements and monitors progress toward short- and long-term fundraising strategy and goals.
-With the Executive Director,cultivates relationships with current and prospective funders and supporters, especially individual donors.
-With the Executive Director, oversees all fundraising activities including major giving.
-Maintains oversight of grants, special events, direct mail appeals, and corporate partnership initiatives.
-Works with the Board of Directors, including the Board Development and Gala committees.

Goal: Maintaining Our Budget
-Participates in the planning, writing,and reviewing grants budgets.
-Manages expense budgets for all fundraising, public relations, and communications efforts.
-Participates in Board Finance Committee meetings.

Goal: Preserving the Institution
-Serves asa public representative of the organization, including cultivating relationships with community members and supporters in order to build awareness of and commitment to our organization's work.
-Oversees the maintenance and expansion of the organization’s database of supporters.
-Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by the Executive Director and Board.

Desired Skills & Experience

-Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
-Minimum of five years experience in fundraising and public relations.
-Proven track record of raisingfunds from diverse sources, including major gifts, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
-Experience in donor cultivation, grant writing, and special events.
-Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.
-Strong interpersonal, supervision, administration, and management skills.
-Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
-Familiarity with donor tracking systems.
-Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
-Sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
-Resourcefulness,creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
