We are looking for a Corporate Communications Director who can help lead and drive our global storytelling. You'll be responsible for coordinating and supporting global corporate communications planning, including management of corporate story maps, speech writing, issue management, executive support, media outreach and research. You will drive our global corporate business messages in the media, traditional and social, through integrated communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Developing highly innovative and targeted PR strategies, messages and tactics that engage and deliver against brand target consumers to show Beats as a leading innovation brand
+ Developing and executing media messages including brand, products, founders, athletes, artists and crisis communications where relevant.
+ Proactively building and managing strategic media relationships with key publications, key media influences relevant to brand.
+ Developing relationships with targeted journalists and social media influencers.
+ Managing crisis communications
+ Supporting global corporate communications events where appropriate.
+ Preparing our spokespeople with messages and training for interviews as necessary; ensure message delivery.
+ Creating briefing materials for executives, tracking timelines and budget and manage internal and external approval processes where appropriate.
MISCELLANEOUS:
You should have strong experience in reputation and issues management, combined with excellent writing skills. This role requires a seasoned communicator with extensive experience acting as a lead spokesperson across all mediums.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree (minimum) in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field required.
· 8+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations.
· Experience with managing communications for complex brands preferred
· Management skills include high-profile communications, strategic planning, budgeting and creative solutions.
· Proven ability to communicate plans across a global company, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.
· Experience initiating and driving the ideation process contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage.
· Successful experience in working effectively at a high senior level brand management and a proven ability to provide guidance and direction to peers.
· On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a high profile company spokesperson both on and off camera.
· Strong written and spoken English required.
· Successful experience in a senior level management position with proven ability to provide direction and leadership to other managers is preferred.
· Experience leading Communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships.
· Deep understanding of evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape.
· Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred.
· Ability to Travel, 30-40%
COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Mastery of Linux, Mac OS and Windows applications.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Adheres to all requirements for confidentiality of corporate, finance and R&D information.
Adheres to direction from management on distribution controls, secure filing and disposal, records retention and storage for drawings, contracts and other sensitive materials.
