We are currently seeking a Director of Business Development for UMG On-Line Syndication for the New York, NY location.
Universal Music Group is currently the #1 producer of premium music video content on the web. UMG licenses and now syndicates its premium video content to web affiliates around the globe. Additionally, our content is viewable on the UMG Digital Network, a network of over 300 artist and label web sites that generates approximately five million unique visitors every month and growing.
UMG is seeking a seasoned business development professional who has 3+ years in closing online content deals; a candidate who is well-connected within the online media and entertainment industries and can produce results quickly; a results-oriented individual with excellent contacts as well as written and verbal skills, and the ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and produce results.
The Director of Business Development for UMG On-Line Syndication will work solely on the Video Syndication Project and will report into the Senior VP of Global Digital Initiatives in charge of the project.
Responsibilities:
• Successfully hitting revenue goals under aggressive deadlines.
• Generating leads, creating proposals, and closing new syndication affiliates.
• Managing and growing affiliate relationships.
• Coordinating delivery of content to affiliate partners.
• Ensuring that affiliate partners implement and promote UMG content as specified by terms.
• Coordinating with the Director of Web Development and Production Services to ensure that all technical platform issues and content delivery issues are handled for affiliate partners.
• Finding new affiliate sectors to monetize.
• Collaborating with the rest of the team on new ways to package our video content for delivery to affiliates.
• Preparing reporting on Deal Status, completed and pending.
• Preparing research, statistics, metrics, and presentations for key executives related to the syndication marketplace as needed.
Requirements:
• Relationships with online media and entertainment brands.
• Experienced dealmaker and effective closer with proven track record of meeting revenue targets.
• Must have extensive experience in presentation, negotiation, and customer relationship building.
• Strong analytical and business acumen required; thorough understanding of marketer objectives.
• Experience selling high-value content
• Knowledge of and/or experience selling emerging media like Video, Wireless, Widgets, etc.
• 3+ years of solid Internet business development experience
• B.A./B.S. degree
