The Development Associate is an exciting entry level opportunity for a bright, self-motivated, detail oriented, and well-organized individual. This position provides an important role in implementing the CCSO’s fundraising strategies within a dynamic development program. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Development.

Summary Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Development Associate are the timely and efficient processing of donations and acknowledgement letters. The following duties are critical to the position:
• Enter all gifts into the Raiser’s Edge donor database accurately
• Generate donation reports and reconcile with QuickBooks
• Generate and print acknowledgement letters for donations
Qualifications:
Required
• BA/BS; attention to detail
• Able to handle multiple tasks
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
• Computer literate in MS Office (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated team player ability and “can do “ attitude
Preferred
• One of more years of work experience with a development program such as Raiser’s Edge
Duties and Responsibilities:
Database Management
• Ensure donor database is current and donor records are updated and accurate
• Generate reports necessary to assist in tracking fundraising performance and progress in prospect cultivation and solicitation
• Serve as Raiser’s Edge donor database administrator (review attribute tables, gift tables, other fields, giving levels, system options, and user options and adjust as needed; manage access, passwords, and data; serve as point person for questions and support)
• Maintain integrity of system and ensure that it is being utilized in an efficient and effective manner
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed and requested to monitor progress of all tracked funds
• Run reports and execute queries from the database to fulfill mailing requests and data reports for Development, Marketing, and other departments
• Create and maintain accuracy of donor acknowledgment lists for publications
• Prepare mailing lists for Annual Fund direct mail appeals
• Help ensure the fulfillment of donor benefits
• Assist with coordination of future data conversions/upgrades as needed
Financial
• Reconcile all records with QuickBooks
• Track outstanding annual and campaign pledges and monitor pledge payment activity and reminders
• Generate donation reports and reconcile with QuickBooks
Administrative
• Perform administrative tasks including word processing, responding to telephone and email communications, interacting with patrons, donors and Trustees
• Perform administrative support including dissemination of information, planning and scheduling meetings, and performing other tasks as needed
• Assist with production of fundraising solicitation appeal mailings
• Assist with special events as needed
• Attend staff and committee meetings as necessary
• Assist with CCSO Trustee & volunteer relations
Professional Development
• Keep Director of Development informed of progress, conflicts, or competing demands of normal duties
• Attend training to expand knowledge of best practices in fundraising and database management
• Seek out professional mentoring opportunities with local organizations
Other Duties
• Assist at all CCSO performances
• Other duties as requested
Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours/week
