We are currently seeking a Content Specialist for the New York, NY location.
Reporting to the Pre-Press & Digital Workflow Department, the Content Specialist will work closely with multiple departments and outside agencies at one or more of Universal Music Group’s music labels to define and implement working processes that ensure the capture, quality and delivery of audio, video and artwork digital assets.
The Content Specialist is the sole manager of his/her individual label’s content requirements and contributes, as a team member, to innovate and redefine methods to receive and deliver content to UMG labels and eBusiness ventures.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the overall content process at his/her label. Develops/adjusts workflow to make assets available to groups within his/her label. Directs, trains, and explores each group’s needs to come up with best solutions.
• Produce custom graphic elements and ensure adherence to company standards for digital assets, including reporting on assets
• Work with outside agencies to ensure that graphic, audio and video assets are captured in standard digital formats and returned to the label
• Ensure the smooth flow of assets to UMG's Asset Exchange Centers to meet proprietary deadlines for international parts movement by developing close relationships, prioritizing and problem solving
• Complete special projects that support the needs and goals of UMG’s global efforts, including the development of training manuals and websites, as well as research into new technologies and projects exclusive to the individual label groups

Technical Requirements:
• 2 – 4 years of hands-on pre-press production experience on Macintosh
• Must have intermediate to advanced software skills in:
- Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Suitcase, Font Fusion and related font utilities, Flightcheck, File compression and file transfer utilities (Stuffit, FTP Protocols, Wam!Net, etc.)
- Database entry and report generation (Filemaker, Access, etc.)
• Prior experience in digital archiving a plus
• Strong background in working with digital graphics is required
• Broad understanding of graphic, audio and video asset formats is required
