Responsibilities:
The Global Digital Business Web Products team is tasked with providing our artists' fans with the best-in-class web products, driving maximum value for fans, artists, and the company. This individual will both create original content and manage online communities for the company network of artist and cross-artist sites to ensure they are premier, engaging, up-to-date, and authoritative destinations for our artists' fans.
The responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:
* Planning and creating original and compelling content that supports the voice, tone and style of our artists
* Heavy writing, editing and blogging on a daily basis; responsible for publishing original stories, aggregating news from outside sources and working on special multimedia projects
* Shooting and editing original photo and video content
* Managing deadlines and assigning freelance bloggers, photographers and videographers
* Supervising in-house interns to help produce daily content
* Assisting in the creation of content strategies, editorial calendars and publishing schedules
* Identifying and researching high impact content types to drive maximum reach and engagement for artist sites
* Collaborating with labels and artists to help coordinate and encourage artist participation on their web sites
* Developing plan to highlight and stimulate user-generated content
* Working with Managing Editor and the rest of the editorial team to adapt and create content that will attract sponsors and partners
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required; journalism/writing experience strongly preferred
* Must have a solid understanding and passion for the music space
* Superb writing and editing skills
* Experience with photo and video editing tools
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of organizational ability
* Energetic, efficient and able to work independently under pressure
* Must be able to think and act quickly; thrive in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment; set and meet deadlines
* Experience with supervision of writing, editing and photography
* Experience with online publishing tools / SEO, a plus
* Minimum 3 years editorial experience (online preferred)
* This role requires a high degree of creativity, energy, flexibility, and leadership.
* The ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (from artists and web designers to developers and independent bloggers) is essential.
* Individual must also be very organized, proactive and an extraordinary communicator.
* Must enjoy "thinking outside the box."
