We are conducting a search for an industry-savvy professional to join our rapidly growing Career Development Department as a Student Career Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity to help new talent navigate their way through the exciting world of recording arts, including the music industry, film and TV audio post-production, live sound, video games, and more. We are seeking an energetic, personable professional with a minimum of 3 years experience working in the recording/music/audio field, as well as a wide range of established contacts in the industry. Position reports directly to the Director of Career Development.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct one-on-one career advisory meetings with students and graduates.
• Assist students with creation and continual revision of resumes, cover letters and business communication. Conduct mock interviews with students and alumni, as needed.
• Network with industry professionals to cultivate job and internship leads
• Maintain contact with alumni; research and track professional accomplishments of graduates
• Help track, generate, document and report accurate post-graduation job placement statistics, according to accrediting agency’s standards

Experience Required:
• At least 3 years experience in the music/recording/audio industry
• Prior experience in an office environment a plus

Skills Required:
• Top-notch interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)
• Position requires discretion, patience and confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills, including time management, multi-tasking and follow-through
• Flexibility, a positive attitude and sense of humor are a must!
