We are located at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, and are a progressive and growing arts non-profit organization. We are highly regarded as the city’s premier performance venue for small- and medium-sized music and dance groups locally and nationally. We pride ourselves on being one of the leading full service performing arts organizations in the nation.

We are currently seeking a full-time Box Office Treasurer to oversee all Ticket Services and Financial operations. The main areas of responsibility for this position are listed below with other duties and responsibilities to be assigned as needed. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position that will include evenings and weekends.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise the work of 4-8 part-time Box Office Sales Associates including:
o Achieve projected goals, resolve issues and foster positive working relationships.
o Ensure accuracy/consistency of transactions, efficiently and effectively manage problem solving and customer situations that need to be escalated;
o Create and maintain weekly staffing schedule for all Box Office Sales Associates. Ensure that office hours and ticketed events have adequate staff coverage and stay within staffing budget. Manage breaks, lunches, and track accurate timekeeping open and/or close the Box Office as necessary;
o Lead the ticket services staff in maintaining a high level of customer service including: greeting patrons upon entrance to the facilities, presenting a positive, and knowledgeable demeanor regarding the Theater and its programs, provide prompt, accurate and courteous assistance/information;
o Take a proactive approach to providing additional Tessitura, customer service, and informational training to staff when necessary.
o Diligently collect patron data and keep accurate patron records by supervising data collection and data management processes, ensure effective practices for capturing customer data, oversee data entry and data correction on an ongoing basis;
• Maintain strong and consistent relationships with all outside renting clients including but not limited to Resident Companies, making sure all ticketing needs are fulfilled in a prompt and organized manner;
• Responsible for management level operations of Tessitura ticketing system including building, altering and maintaining events, promotions, price types, calendars, seating charts, source codes etc.; pulling lists and reports as needed;

• Responsible for financial reconciliation of Ticket Office on daily basis including:
o Accurate daily sales reporting to Finance Department;
o Daily reconciliation of BO cash and financial statements;
o Preparation of settlement statements for rental event sales;
o Consistent, accurate tracking and documentation of cash-on-hand. Prepare daily deposits and make change when necessary;
o Prepare and submit payroll on a weekly basis;
• Attend all staff and departmental meetings during scheduled hours as required;
• Participate in cross-departmental initiatives as required;
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in Box Office sales or entertainment/arts with supervisory duties.
- 5+ years of management experience
- 3+ years experience working with Tessitura or comparable ticketing database
- Proven experience managing cash flow and reconciliation of finances on a daily basis
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software and telephone systems
- Dedication to customer service and familiarity with standard practices and policies
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Diplomacy, tact, sense of humor, flexibility, initiative, and enthusiasm
- Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks under pressure of deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity in safeguarding Theater assets
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work variable schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends
- Appreciation for the arts

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
