We continue to seek candidates for the full-time position of Associate Director of Music. The ideal candidate will have a teachable spirit and a good understanding of the nature the Catholic Church and her liturgy, especially at a Cathedral standard.
The Associate Director of Music will assist with the planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry including choirs and instrumental ensembles. He/She will also serve as the Associate Cathedral organist as well as the principal accompanist to all Cathedral choirs which includes the Cathedral Girls’ Choir, Cathedral Boys’ Choir, Saint Ignatius Loyola School Youth Choir, and the Cathedral Adult Choirs. There is also substantial opportunity for private teaching or teaching music in the Cathedral schools.
The Cathedral Parish also has numerous weddings and funerals throughout the year for additional compensation. Currently the Cathedral is in the construction process for Parkey Organ Builders Opus 12 of 3M/55 Ranks.
